Harrry Amochi

House of Strength | Guardian
Love to Eat ,... and Cook. Nature Explorer

Like all the Guardians Harrry has an interesting history. He’s a bigfoot, chosen to be a Guardian, and there have been plenty of times when he hasn’t believed he should be. No one knows anything about his past. They don’t know of the choices he made, or the mistakes, and he wants to keep in that way, believing that everyone will look at him differently when they find out the truth about him. What he doesn’t understand if that he was chosen due to that past. Had he not made the choices he did then he would never have been chosen, because, in the end, he did make the decision he was going to change. He wanted to be a better person. He wanted something more for himself, for his people, and he was going to do what he could in order to make that happen – including doing his best to fix his relationship with his younger brother.

To begin with Harrry’s quietness is to do with what he is. As a bigfoot he was taught to hide himself. His people were being hunted, and safety was the most important thing. Of course with this need to hide also came a lot of anger. He never wanted to be what he was, he never wanted to be born, so he disliked the choices his family had made on his behalf. It isn’t until later, as he learns more about what it is to be what he is, that he comes to understand why they made those choices, and with that comes the regret. The unhappiness. The wish he could change things, and make them better. In order to do that he does what he can to help the other bigfoots, the different tribes, in an attempt to make things up to the family he can never apologise to, due to their early deaths at the hands of hunters.

Slowly, as time passes, Harrry comes to be an important member of the Guardians. He is the Guardian of Strength, so he is seen differently to some of the others. A few become friends with him, like Kate, while the rest go to him when they need his strength to get through something difficult, and he often helps the other Guardians with the people who call them. Due to what he is he’s someone who can help almost all the Guardians. He likes this. He likes knowing that they will ask him for help, and he can, at least in part, make up for some of the choices he made in the past. He also likes to help the surviving bigfoot. By this point they are more of them than there were, but they’re still having trouble with the hunters, who view the bigfoot as dangerous beings because of their size. None of them understand the true nature of the bigfoot, or the damage they’re causing.
